I've been talking about Japanese gel brands and how they can elevate your nail services. Today, I go into the unique Japanese gel brand Kokoist. Kokoist was established in 2010, made its debut in the U.S. in 2014. While Kokoist has earned a reputation among nail enthusiasts. Let's jump into the distinctive features of Kokoist gel products to help you make an informed choice for your nail services.
One of the standout features of Kokoist gels is their clear gels, which falls into the semi-hard category. What does that mean? These gels offer a unique hybrid characteristic, combining both soft and hard gels. While I don't reach for Kokoist as often, it has its own set of advantages that you might find appealing. Let's go right into what it can offer.

Kokoist offers two base gels - Mega Stick and Platinum Bond Duo. Mega Stick is a soft gel known for its exceptional adhesion and durability. The viscosity of this gel is on the lower side, making it relatively easier to soak off. Whereas, Platinum Bond Duo, a two-in-one builder gel, offers maximum adhesion and the durability of a builder gel. This gel falls into the semi-hard category, meaning it takes longer to soak off but provides more durability. The choice between the two depends on your client's needs and preferences.
Kokoist doesn't disappoint when it comes to top coats, offering a range of options. They provide three standard top coats - Ultra Glossy, Non-Wipe, and Matte Top Gel, all of which are non-wipe. Ultra Glossy stands out as it's a bit thicker compared to the others. For those who work with chemicals like dyes, Kokoist offers a Stain Barrier Non-

wipe top gel. While I can't vouch for its stain resistance personally, it's a promising option for those exposed to harsh chemicals. Kokoist also offers special effect top coats, including Rainbow and Diamond, which feature glittery elements. These top coats add a unique touch to colored gels without the need for additional top coating. The Aurora Effect Non-Wipe Top Gel can enhance the color of any gel, giving it an extra dimension.
Kokoist provides one extension product, the Excel Builder Gel, which is a semi-hard gel. It's versatile and can be used as an overlay or for building out nails. If you have clients looking for added strength or longer nails, this could be your go-to choice.

Kokoist has an impressive selection of over 250+ gel colors. These colors are highly pigmented, allowing for stunning nail art creations. Kokoist gel colors are known for their buttery smooth texture, which makes them perfect for intricate designs. The formulation rivals that of other popular brands, and the vibrancy of the colors is a delight for any nail artist.
Kokoist Japanese gel brand offers a wide array of products, each with its own set of advantages. While it may not be my personal go to product, Kokoist clear gels, base gels, top coats, and gel colors make it a brand worth considering for your nail services.
Have you decided which Japanese gel brand you're leaning towards? I'd love to hear what your thoughts on brands so far. Peace out!
